Welcome to our fall enrichment classes! If you are looking for a list of after school enrichment opportunities, try the enrichment menu above. If you are ready to register for an activity, try the registration menu item.
Important: You do not need an account to register for a class.
District Goal #6
Mount Auburn is implementing after-school enrichment classes to meet the needs of our students for in-depth exploration of subjects, ideas, and activities, not covered within the regular school day. We’re proud to work with the instructors, school staff, volunteers, and students to provide exemplary after-school learning opportunities in a safe, well-supported environment.
Important Dates
Registration will open on Monday, October 3rd at 7:00 am, and close on October 9th at 5:00 pm.
After school enrichment will begin the week of Monday, October 18th and conclude the week of Monday, December 5th.
We will begin our spring semester of enrichment opportunities the week of Monday, January 16th. Registration will open Monday, January 2nd at 7:00 am and close Sunday January 15th at 5:00 pm.
How this works
Find your enrichment activity in the Enrichment Catalog, and then Register for them. You can register for multiple classes at a time, but only one child at a time. On the Registration page, you filter the classes by Day and Grade.
You’ll receive an email once you have registered.
If you know someone that does not have access to a computer, or needs help filling out these forms, please call the front office at 972.749.8500 to arrange a time to use our computers, before or after school.
Enjoy,
Ellen M. Pool
Policies and Procedures
General
Course Changes: Mount Auburn might cancel or combine classes. This might happen if we have scheduling issues or don’t meet enrollment expectations. If a class is cancelled, you will be notified by the instructor.
STUDENT ARRIVAL
Coaches will pickup kinder students from a designated location outside their teachers classrooms.
Students in grades 1-5 who don’t attend after-care, are responsible for reporting to class independently. Day time classroom teachers are provided with a list of children participating in enrichment classes. Teachers will release students to their assigned location at the end of the school day. Students that go to the REC will meet in a designated location and be picked up by a monitor at 4:05 pm.
ATTENDANCE
Attendance will be taken at the start of each class. If your child does not report to class and is not on the school’s regular daily absentee list, a monitor will attempt to notify you. The monitor is not responsible for tracking missing children; a message will be left at the primary contact number only. If your child will be in school, but not attending their extracurricular class on a given day, please email the Enrichment Coach by 1:00 PM so the monitor can be informed.
STUDENT DISMISSAL
You will choose on the registration form whether you are picking your child up or your child will be allowed to walk home. At the conclusion of classes, you or an authorized person are expected to pick up students from the South Side Carpool pickup. Students not picked up on time will be escorted to the school’s front lobby to wait with the monitor. Class end time will be 4:00 pm. Refer to the enrichment catalog descriptions for the specific days and location opportunities are being offered.
Due to complications in schedules, bus drivers will not wait for students to finish their enrichment activities. If your child rides the bus and would still like to commit to an enrichment activity, the parent will be responsible for arranging pickup for their child as well as communicating this to the designated coach.
LATE PICKUP POLICY
Persons authorized to pick up students must be on time. Please understand that the adults at the school may very well have their own children, or similar time-sensitive, obligations.
STUDENT BEHAVIOR
There is zero tolerance for bullying. Mount Auburn strictly prohibits teasing, vulgarity, or any behavior that makes another child or teacher uncomfortable. We will send home a warning when a child has acted inappropriately.
Students must participate in the classes they attend and must behave in a manner that does not disrupt learning by other students. Mount Auburn reserves the right of disenrollment of students from classes who do not exhibit appropriate behavior.
